Welcome to the Center for the Defense of Civil Rights & Equality. Our goal is to advocate for the respect, rights, and dignity of all immigrants by creating a venue with far reaching effects to our community in need. Our commitment is to facilitate the access to Citizenship Programs available to permanent residents who have successfully completed five years with their USCIS permanent green card without records of legal infringements. Advocacy efforts have made a dramatic difference in the lives of immigrants in the State of Rhode Island and far beyond, as we ensure immigrants’ voices are heard by assisting them with challenging immigration cases, and by changing the narratives about immigration issues to influence policy. Those of us who are involved in educating those less fortunate continue to thrive, as people, young and old witness the truthful and powerful principles of a good government by restoring real liberty under the Constitution.
We rejoice when one is converted to a Citizen of the United States by adopting our brilliant Constitution and striving to keep our beacon of light shining in the name of our freedom and democracy. The Center for the Defense of Civil Rights & Equality would like to invite those individuals and institutions that are interested in changing the life of those in search for services that support our families to be more independent in the search for a better quality of life. Our organization is prepared to provide an array of Human Services representation free of charge for those individuals in need of a Spanish and English translator, assistance in soliciting nutritional and medical assistance, notary public, family resolution mediation, veteran guidance, financial and computer literacy, legal assistance, English as a second language, citizenship education and application, certified adult nutritional education and other community services.
